A few things worth knowing about BIA
Bandaranaike International Airport (Katunayake) has a single main terminal for both international arrivals and departures, roughly 30–35 km north of Colombo. After immigration and baggage claim, the arrivals hall opens directly onto the pickup zone where pre-booked drivers wait — you won’t need to walk far or navigate a large, confusing terminal complex.
If it’s your first trip to Sri Lanka, it’s worth changing a small amount of currency or drawing cash at the airport ATMs before you leave, since some smaller stops en route may not take cards.
